Busy holiday weekend, so I obviously didn't post all that much. On Thanksgiving Day, we had all of Mrs. Lime's family over at the house. Lots of cooking and eating going on. Mrs. Lime and Blondie kept the food coming all day long. Everyone left not long after dinner. I think it was early nap time for all.
I worked on Friday, so not much exciting going on that day. Got to spend a full evening with Kali 1.9 and Tinkerbell 0.1. Tinkerbell is having a few more accidents of late, though she still will go outside right away if we get her out on time. Our issue of late is that Tinkerbell won't even wait for you to get your coat on. If you say you're going outside, don't bother with the coat. Tinkerbell has peed at least two times in the house during the delay while Mrs. Lime puts on her coat. I don't even bother with the coat anymore. I'd rather be cold than cleaning up a potty puddle.
Went to the Mizzou/Kansas game on Saturday. We had a great time at the tailgate. I whipped up some breakfast burritos and had a magnum of wine available. Great stuff and the burritos hit the spot. The game was also a lot of fun. It was one of those 'weather' games that are a blast. Snow was coming down the entire game and the action on the field was non-stop. Obviously, it was disappointing that Mizzou came up just short (lost 40-37), but that's what makes sports so much fun. You never know what you're going to get. I still had a lot of fun.
Sunday, we took Kali over to the T-Rex Restaurant. They've got animated dinosaurs and fish tanks all over the place. Lots of fun for a kid. Kali spent most of the meal pointing at all the things to look at in the restaurant. Only thing she didn't like was the 'meteorite extinction' that happens every hour. She was scared by the sound of the meteorites and ran over to Grandma for safety.
Later that night, Kali said she was 'dirty'. That's referring to her diaper obviously. Mrs. Lime took her up and check the diaper and didn't find any poo in the diaper. Kali, as she likes to do in the last few weeks, said she wanted to sit on the potty chair. Kali sat there for quite awhile (10-15 minutes) and then pointed down and said 'Poo-poo'. Sure enough, she had gone #2 in the potty chair! Her first time!
Amazing just how exciting foul-smelling excrement can be when emitted by a 21 month old child at just the right moment. We've obviously got more work to do, but it appears that Kali and Tinkerbell are both going to work on their potty training in the coming weeks.
