Pretty exciting stuff. Mizzou's basketball team managed to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 7 years. First game was a cakewalk and the game yesterday required some late-game heroics, but they pulled it out. As a result, Mizzou has now won 30 games for the first time in the 103-year history of the school. That's absolutely fantastic, especially given that we were picked to finish 7th in conference before the season started.
Think about this. Mizzou is now in a 16-team single elimination tournament with the prize being the National Championship. Only 4 wins separate Mizzou from a National Championship. Do I think it will happen? Odds are against it. Is is fun to think about that possibility in late March? Absolutely.
Oh, and I've heard through the grapevine that a contract extension for Coach Anderson is in the works to be finalized after the season ends. Every win we get just increases the size of that contract. I don't think the athletic director minds one bit.
