Random thoughts from our visit to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday.....
-If there's a misbehaving kid on a ride, you can be pretty sure that there's an unattentive parent who figures out the problem far too late.
-A mom walked in with 5 kids with the oldest likely only 10 years old. Mrs. Lime and I were impressed with her composure with the chaos surrounding her at all times. We both agreed that some people handle those situations better than others and we're smart enough to realize that neither of us are equipped to handle a five-child household.
-Children lose their mind when they're in a place like that. Kali would play a game or ride a ride and then immediately turn to scan for the next activity. You could see she could barely comprehend the full level of options available.
-I think we can safely say that Kali is not born to be a softball pitcher. We couldn't get her to throw a Skee-ball underhand to save her life. She'd fire the balls overhand, resulting in a 'thud' as the heavy ball hit the ramp. She's obviously meant for basketball or volleyball.
-If you go to Chuck E. Cheese on a holiday or weekend, be sure to go early. We were there by 10:45 AM and there was plenty of room. When we left around 12:45, there was a line of 75 people out the door. For what it's worth, most of them were at least smiling about the fun to come.
-Kali 2.0 likes mascots at a distance. She loved the animatronic Chuck E. Cheese, but when Mrs. Lime took Kali to see him, she wanted to keep her distance. I can't say I blame her. 5 foot tall rodents can be a bit imposing.
-Nothing is more exciting to a 2 year old than another 2 year old riding the same merry-go-round with them. Kali and another girl got on the ride together. They spent most of the ride smiling at each other, oblivious to the parents that were trying to get their attention. If only adults could make friends that easily.
-Mrs. Lime said the pizza was average. I mentioned that we didn't come to Chuck E. Cheese for the pizza. It's merely food to keep you going while you play the games.
-Kali napped for nearly 3 hours after we got home. Having fun can be very tiring.
