Meetings are fun........

Mrs. Lime, Kali 0.2 and I went to the annual homeowners' meeting last night. Kali was the star of the show before the meeting. Lots of people in their 50s and 60s attending the meeting and all of them wanted to take a peek. One of the ladies came by to chat while taking a look at Kali.....

Lady: How cute! How old is she?

Me: She's 5 weeks old.

Lady: Oh, she is just precious and so well-behaved.

Me: Well, we'll see how long she's well-behaved. I'm sure she'll fuss at some point.

Lady: Well, she can fuss all she wants and that's just fine!

Although I did have to walk Kali around during the meeting, she was very quiet and slept through 2/3 of the meeting. Everywhere I would look around the room, there were people taking glances over their shoulder to take a peek at the baby. I'm not sure what it is, but babies make middle-aged and older people absolutely giddy.

The meeting was typical homeowner meeting stuff. People fussing about how trees are planted, which flowers are planted, who's got outlawed vehicles in their driveway, etc. As I told Mrs. Lime afterwards, it's always good to have people who make a scene at those kinds of meetings. They annoy you when they do complain, but they generally keep the subdivision developers honest and that's always a good thing.
